Maritime Fordite Cap-Less Rollerball

This unique Cap-Less rollerball has been carefully crafted from a piece of Maritime Fordite which originates from Naval shipyards. The pen has aluminium fittings to further enhance its look.

Fordite is created by a build up of many layers of paint overspray which is repeatedly baked and hardened over a period of time. The chunks of hardened overspray are broken off and have become very sought after by jewellery makers and crafters alike. The onset of robotic spraying has seen a steep reduction in overspray and hence Fordite both automotive and maritime is becoming scarce and very expensive.

To operate the pen simply twist the finial to extend the rollerball tip and when you finish writing twist again to withdraw the tip.

The rollerball uses a Schmidt Cap-Less rollerball refill which are readily available and as most things are obtainable through Amazon.
