Fordite Artist Pencil

This stunning Artist Pencil has been created from pieces of motoring history. Fordite also known as Detroit agate or Motor City agate,is a lapidarist term for polished pieces of finely-layered paint masses from automobile factories. The masses consist of automotive paint which has hardened sufficiently to be cut and polished. It was formed from the buildup of layers of enamel paint slag on tracks and skids on which cars were painted with acrylic lacquer which have been baked numerous times.

The pencil has chrome fittings and uses a 5.6mm lead. The pencil has a built in sharpener which is found when the plunger is removed from the pencil and put over the lead and a twist action returns the point to the lead.

Replace the plunger, reposition the lead and you are good to go.

The pencil will come with its own leather fob and a pack of spare leads.
