Types of pens available
While 24k gold is pure gold plating on pens it is very thin and it has an epoxy resin to increase durability. 18k and 10k gold is mixed with a harder alloy and covered with the epoxy resin this increases the life a great deal however not all pens are made in 18k and 10k gold you also have rhodium and titanium plating, this is applied on top of other finishes to ensure a life long finish.
Sterling Silver is also available on some of the fountain pen kits. The parts receive a restaurant grade 20-micron plating to ensure the beauty lasts for many, many years. Platinum and chrome are 2 more finishes.
